Kenneth Hite descends upon the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival this weekend, to watch, discuss and enjoy the best in new cosmic horror cinema. 28th Annual H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival will take place Oct 6-8, 2023 on all 3 screens at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Ken’s been invited as a guest, and will be introducing films and hosting Q&A’s throughout the event. If you’d like to meet the man in person, his schedule is as follows (all times are PST).
FRIDAY – Ken will be at the Meet & Greet from 4-6 pm, introducing Shorts Block 5 (7:20 pm, Upper Right theater) and Shorts Block 3 (9:00 pm, Upper Right theater), then hosting Q&A after Block 3.
SATURDAY – Ken introduces and hosts a Q&A for FROGMAN (1:00 pm, Upper Left theater), introduces Robert Lloyd Parry’s performance of “The Willows” (4:00 pm, Upper Right theater), then introduces and hosts a Q&A for Shorts Block 1 (7:00 pm, Upper Right theater), and introduces Shorts Block 5 (9:00 pm, Upper Right theater).
SUNDAY – Ken participates in the Monsters: Indistinct or Immeasurable panel (2:00 pm, Misc), the Lovecraft in Japan panel (3:00 pm, Upper Right theater), the Lovecraft’s Heirs panel (4:00 pm, Upper Right theater), introduces GODS OF THE DEEP (7:00 pm. Upper Right theater), introduces Shorts Block 4 (9:00 pm, Upper Right theater), introduces a second screening of FROGMAN (9:00 pm, Upper Left theater), and finally races off to see SUITABLE FLESH (9:30 pm, Main Theater… Heather Graham IS Edward Pickman Derby).
After that marathon weekend, Ken will be collapsing safely at a friend’s house and recovering from the warping effect of THAT much cosmic horror exposure in one weekend. We hope you’ll be able to find him at the show, and purchase his Tour de Lovecraft books (Along with Robin D. Laws’s New Tales of the Yellow Sign) which the festival organizers have graciously agreed to stock for us.
