In this, the second installment of the Gasmask Gazetteer, we explore a singular example of the corrupt underworld of Neo-Victorian London: St. John’s Public House. A simple pub conceals a depraved house of ill-repute where one can indulge one’s taste for flesh, drugs, and gambling upon both games of chance and displays of violence. The establishment’s staff is introduced, its decadent halls described, and we conclude with new Flash Thief Stunts for Criminals as well as two new Qualities appropriate for any character who spends his time among such poor company.

The Gasmask Gazetteer is a supplement for Unhallowed Metropolis, Revised, of interest to and use by Narrators and players alike. Each installment of the Gazetteer shines a light upon a location in the city of London, 2105 A.D. and the inhabitants thereof and relates to a specific Calling. These places are described in grim detail for use by Narrators seeking locations to include in their games of Unhallowed Metropolis and include statistics for important nonplayer characters. Further, players may find these locations and non-player characters useful in describing the backgrounds of their own characters. Finally, each installment of the Gazetteer concludes with several items intended for the use of players, including new Calling-specific Stunts as well as a number of new combat Stunts, Qualities, Impediments, or equipment of use to any character.

Gasmask Gazetteer #2: St. John’s Public House is a 10 page PDF, and is available in the Atomic Overmind webstore for $2.99. The PDF is also available at Drivethrurpg.com.

The Overmind and company have been hibernating a bit over the holidays and through January, recharging, and planning for the coming year. But we’re back now, hopefully with a lot of really cool things coming down the pike for 2012. We’re still solidifying the details on most of our upcoming projects, but suffice to say we have things in the works for The Day After Ragnarok, Adventures into Darkness, Unhallowed Metropolis, the 101 series…and a few other special things that we haven’t yet breathed a word about.

Welcome to 2012, everyone. We hope you’ll like what we have in store this year.

New Dark Age has compiled this brief errata document addressing the material of Unhallowed Metropolis, Revised. This errata will also be included within the pages of Unhallowed Necropolis, Revised in 2012.

Further PDF support is on the horizon for Unhallowed Metropolis, and we’ll have more details on that as soon as details are solidified. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Atomic Overmind Press forums for ongoing discussions about the game!

We’ve had a lot of questions about just what changed since the first edition of Unhallowed Metropolis, so the New Dark Age guys have put together a look at just what makes Unhallowed Metropolis, Revised, revised. Click here to check out the full entry on the Unhallowed Metropolis page!

After the Serpentfall, floods and horrors rise all along the Mississippi valley. Only the Bluff City survives, kept alive by hard choices and harder men. Strangers come to Memphis from deep in the dark, from out in the wild, from all over. They set out for the Delta, or for the wild Poisoned Lands, ready to kill or to heal, but most of all ready for trouble. Because we’ve got trouble, right here in the River City …

This 35-page City Sourcebook for Memphis in the world of The Day After Ragnarok features:

  • Key locations in Memphis, both specific (the Peabody Hotel, Beale Street) and generic (”the blacksmith” or “the roadhouse”) tuned for maximum action!
  • Full maps of Memphis and Tennessee, keyed to the text and waiting for you to make your mark!
  • Friends and foes, from Boss Crump’s arm-twisters to surly tattooed barbarians to the shining Oak Ridge Men. Klandestine plotters, swamp cultists, hoodoo men, and more lurk in Memphis’ streets or call to secret Things deep in the Delta. Four fully-statted NPCs, including Alvin York, the greatest shot in the world, bring the action to town!
  • Monsters of the Tennessee night, like wampus cats, Shonokins, and even more snakes.
  • Poisoned Lands Adventures: The complete guide to adventuring in the Poisoned Lands: encounter tables, salvaged treasures, and a big bag of adventure seeds waiting for you to plant!

Memphis: Gateway to the Poisoned Lands will be unleashed upon the world in Fall/Winter 2011. Watch for previews in the coming weeks!

A New Home for The Day After Ragnarok

We’ve also completely retooled the website section devoted to The Day After Ragnarok. It’ll be much easier to find product pages an information, as well as free downloads. You can find the new site at http://www.atomicovermind.com/main/dar/.

New Dark Age and Atomic Overmind are pleased to announce that Unhallowed Necropolis, Revised, the supernormal source book for Unhallowed Metropolis™ Revised, the gas-mask chic role-playing game of Neo-Victorian horror will be available in spring of 2012!

London sits at the heart of a vast and haunted empire. Within its sprawling fortifications, its teeming population lives alongside the spirits of the discarnate dead. Now, science has pierced the veil separating mortal man from death’s other kingdom. The mysteries of the hereafter stand ready to be revealed, but not all of the restless dead are willing participants.

And the living, too, possess their own secrets. The deranged and traumatized inhabitants of the city manifest psychical abilities of a frightening magnitude. The asylums of the metropolis have become vast warehouses for the criminally insane, powder kegs of psychical energy in which human time bombs tick toward inevitable detonation.

Unhallowed Necropolis details the secret history of the supernormal and introduces ghosts, psychics, and mediums to the Neo-Victorian World.

Unhallowed Necropolis™ is the supernormal source book for Unhallowed Metropolis™ Revised, the gas-mask chic role-playing game of Neo-Victorian horror. Within its pages you’ll find…

  • Complete rules for volatile psychics and the spectral entities that haunt the Unhallowed Metropolis™
  • Five new Callings—Alienist, Exorcist, Medium, Parapsychologist, and Psychic
  • The wonders of aether technology, new Qualities & Impediments, and much more!

We’re doing some significant retooling to the structure of the Atomic Overmind Press website, so you’re going to see some changes in the next few weeks. The new website organization will, we hope, help to better represent all of our various projects and product lines a bit better. This main blogroll will continue to provide information on all of the different Atomic Overmind Press projects, however.

To begin with, we’re proud to announce the opening of the Unhallowed Metropolis section of our wesbite. You can check it out by clicking here!
